Name of Burning Body Not Yet Released

Police have yet to release the name of a man whose body was found burning in a car on Tauranga’s Matakana Island.
Auckland forensic police specialists have been investigating the death which was discovered on Wednesday morning. Police are treating it as suspicious.
Police are still waiting for forensic test results to establish the man’s identity, the test will also show how the man died.
They are interested in any sightings of a Matakana Island resident, Sonny Tawhiao, on Wednesday morning.
