There’s a call for action in the “baby tapping chest therapy” at National Women’s Hospital. Alliance Health Spokesperson, Phillida Bunkle, says it reveals problems with patient’s rights. She is calling for Health Minister Wyatt Creech to step in and address the issue. The “tapping” treatment has been linked to the deaths of five babies and brain damage to eight. The inquiry into the procedure found parents were never informed of the technique. Ms Bunkle says Mr Creech must do something as patient’s rights continue to get abused.
A 24 year old man has been charged with the murder of a Whangarei woman. The body of a 20 year old woman was discovered at an address in Raumata on Monday morning. Police haven’t revealed how the mother of two died. However, a postmortem was completed yesterday and details are expected to be released later today. The 24 year old is to appear in the Whangarei District Court today.
