Introducing the Auckland Beer Mile. Featuring 7 of Auckland’s top beer venues the Auckland Beer Mile takes beer fans on a walking tour through Auckland’s Morningside, Kingsland and Eden Terrace. Showcasing a world class array of breweries and bars serving up the best beer that New Zealand has to offer. *Auckland Beer Mile is actually 3.2km but Beer Mile sounds way better!
1: Just opposite Morningside station you’ll find local freehouse, 605 Bar. Take in the friendly neighbourhood vibe and enjoy a range of beers from around the country with some killer fries.
2: Just a few doors up stop in and enjoy some tasters at Urbanaut Brewery. With paddles and cans direct from one of Auckland’s most exciting inner city breweries.
3: Take a casual wander through Kingsland on the way to Garage Project where you can enjoy tasters of the eclectic range from one of New Zealand’s most creative breweries.
4: Head up the hill to Eden Terrace and Save Ferris for a few games of Pinball or Street Fighter with your pint and a hot dog at this 80’s themed arcade bar.
5: Just downstairs you’ll find The Beer Jerk Bunker. Boasting Auckland’s largest bottled beer selection with an incredible range or rare and interesting beers from NZ and around the world.
6: A short hop across the carpark will take you to Galbraith’s Alehouse. An Auckland institution specialising in British Style hand-pulled real ales brewed on site and classic pub staples.
7: Finish up just down the way at Brothers Juke Joint for a hearty BBQ feast in a chilled out warehouse vibe with a range of fresh beers straight from the tanks.
The Beer Mile is designed with public transport in mind. With Morningside Train Station at one end and Mt Eden Station at the other there’s no need to get anywhere near a car. Plus, if you don’t feel like walking between the venues there’s also a bus running along the length of the route.
Join the bars on the official launch of the Beer Mile on Saturday 1st June for a chill afternoon of walking, chats, good food and, of course, great beer.
