Emergency services are in attendance at a serious crash on State Highway One near Old Valley Road in Okaihau, Far North
District.
Police were called to the crash around 10pm today, Wednesday 8 May.
One person has died at the scene and four people are believed to be moderately injured.
The Serious Crash Unit is on the scene and the road is currently closed with diversions in place.
Anyone travelling to the Far North this evening is asked to take the alternative route via State Highway 10.
