Serious incident Mount Wellington - update

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faa Vaaelua, Counties Manukau Police:
A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a shooting incident at an address on Mount Wellington Highway this afternoon.
Police were called about 1.50pm today to a report of a person being shot at a commercial address.
Police quickly responded to the incident and put cordons in place.
Initial enquires suggest an offender has fled the area immediately after the incident.
Police are making a number of immediate enquiries to locate the person involved, and are following a strong leads.
The incident was captured on CCTV, which Police have seized.
The offender is known to Police and positive lines of enquiries are already underway to locate and apprehend him.
The victim has been taken to Auckland Hospital and is undergoing surgery.
Police responding are currently armed as a precautionary measure.
People are still advised to avoid the area.
Media will be informed when there are any signifcant updates.
