Update: Queenstown burglary

Published: Mon 22 Apr 2019 12:34 PM
Enquiries are continuing into the burglary of a Queenstown jewellery store on Sunday 21 April.
Police have now established that a car which fled from Police in the Dipton area that night - that we believe may be linked to the burglary – had a rear registration plate (LQL818) which had been stolen from a rental vehicle (a red Toyota) in Queenstown.
The car involved in the fleeing driver incident is now believed to be a grey Toyota Corolla, which had also been stolen from Queenstown. It’s actual registration is KHN571.
Police believe that the offender in the Queenstown burglary is travelling in the grey Toyota Corolla, and we’re appealing for any sightings of the vehicle in the Queenstown or Southland areas since Sunday night.
If you have seen a grey Toyota Corolla, with either registration number – LQL818 or KHN571 - please call Queenstown Police on 03 441 1600.
We would also like to hear from anyone who has any other information which could help us identify and locate the offender for this burglary.
Information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
