"Single vehicle crash at Pukerua Bay, north of Wellington"
Police and emergency services are currently in attendance at a collision at Pukerua Bay, where a single vehicle has crashed in the north-bound lane.
The crash occurred at 3.30am and the road is still blocked in both directions.
The driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital by helicopter and remains in a serious condition.
Motorists are asked to be patient, or delay their travel until the road is clear.
