Hokitika man charged with firearms, drugs offences

Today, Tasman Police with the assistance of the Armed Offenders Squad executed a search warrant at a rural Hokitika address.
At the address, Police recovered a firearm along with a cut-down air rifle and a quantity of cannabis plants.
Police also located a stolen vehicle a short distance from the address.
Subsequently a 48-year-old man will face court on a number of charges relating to firearms, drug offences and breaching a protection order.
Police enquiries are still ongoing at this stage and we cannot rule out further charges being laid.
The man is due to appear in the Greymouth District Court on Monday.
