A 44-year-old man will reappear in Christchurch District Court on 15 April on charges of distributing objectionable material in relation to Friday’s terror attack in Christchuch.
Police conducted a search warrant in the Avonside area yesterday morning (19 March) and took the male into custody.
He appeared in Christchurch District Court today, on charges of distributing objectionable material.
Police would like to remind people that it may be an offence to distribute or possess an objectionable publication (under the Films Videos and Publications Classification Act 1993).
This may carry a penalty of imprisonment.
Material deemed to be objectionable can include visual images (moving or still) or written comment – whether on social media or in other forms.
