Police can now confirm one person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Wairoa this morning.
The vehicle went down a bank on Tiniroto Road, between Wainwright Road and Ruakituri Road, about 5.45am.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene.
