"Charges laid after Hastings assault"
Attribute to Detective Inspector Mike Foster:
Police have laid charges in relation to an assault on Maraekakaho Road, Hastings last night.
A 19-year-old man will appear in Hastings District Court today charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous
bodily harm.
The victim, a 56-year-old man, remains in Hawke's Bay Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are speaking to a second person who is helping with enquiries.
We believe this is an isolated incident.
