Police have arrested a man in relation to a shooting in Whenuapai last week.
Police were called on the morning of Monday January 14, after a man was found with gunshot wounds at a property on Brigham Creek Road.
The victim is now in a stable condition in hospital.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent and unlawful possession of a restricted weapon, and will appear in the Waitakere District Court today.
Enquiries are ongoing and further charges may be likely.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Salton says he wants to thank members of the public who contacted Police with information in relation to the incident.
As the matter is now before the courts, Police are not in a position to comment further.
