Council urges resolution to disappointing outcome for Wellington bus customers
Greater Wellington Regional Council’s Sustainable Transport Committee Chair Barbara Donaldson says today’s announcement of further industrial action on NZ Bus operated routes is a very disappointing outcome for Wellington bus customers.
“Exactly how the industrial action will unfold from 28 January is unknown at this point but our main concern has to be the people who rely on those buses each day,” says Cr Donaldson.
“We continue to urge both parties to come to a resolution as quickly as possible and we will do all we can to inform customers about the availability of bus services at the earliest opportunity so they can plan their travel around any disruption,” adds Cr Donaldson.
Services provided by NZ Bus were suspended on January 16 between 8am and 4pm while Tramways Union members voted on further industrial action.
