Greater Wellington Regional Council is urging Metlink customers to check the Metlink website and commuter app and make alternative travel arrangements on Wednesday 16 January after an unexpected strike action at operator NZ Bus was called by the Tramways Union.
The strike action is planned for 8am to 4pm on Wednesday 16 January during which time the following NZ Bus services will be cancelled: 2, 3, 12, 14, 18, 18E, 20, 21, 22, 28, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 81, 83, 84, and 85.
Although the strike only relates to the routes listed, it could affect other routes as customers look for alternative buses to make their journeys.
Metlink has informed essential services, and is in constant contact with all bus operators to keep customers updated through its website and social media channels, as well as through public information on radio and at bus stops.
Customers can use Metlink’s app or website to check for cancelled services, or call our Metlink team on 0800 801 700.
