Police make arrest in Otara homicide investigation

Police have arrested and charged a man after a homicide investigation was launched in Otara last night.
Police were called to an address on Otara Road at 6.50pm on Sunday, where a 62-year-old man was found deceased.
A 44-year-old man has now been charged with murder.
He is due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
Police believe the victim and alleged offender are known to each other.
At this stage, Police are not seeking anyone further in relation to this matter.
Detective Senior Sergeant Warrick Adkin says anyone with information about the incident can contact Police on 09 261 1321 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
As this matter is now before the Courts, Police are unable to comment further.
