"Name release - Raglan drowning"
Police are now in a positon to release the name of the boy who drowned at Wainui Beach, Raglan yesterday.
He was Logan Recce Tuson, 7-years-old, from Hamilton.
Police offer their sympathies to his family at this sad time.
Logan was spending the day at the beach with family when he got into difficulty in the water and was swept into the harbour channel.
His body was recovered soon after following a search by Coast Guard, Surf Life Saving, the Westpac Rescue helicopter crew, and members of the public in other watercraft.
Unfortunately, he was unable to be revived once he was on shore.
Police recommend that people wanting to enjoy their summer in and around water take notice of the Water Safety messages from Surf Life Saving and Coast Guard in order to have a safe and enjoyable summer.
