UPDATE: Water rescue at Huia, Waitakere region

The search for a missing 16-year-old swimmer at Whatipu Beach has been suspended for the day.
Emergency services were notified at 1.30pm that the teen had entered the water and not come out.
He was with two others at the time, who were able to return to shore.
One person remains in hospital this evening for observation.
The search will resume tomorrow morning with Land Search and Rescue and the Police Eagle helicopter.
