Bagging your Boxing Day sale bargains will be easier this year, with free travel on all Waikato region’s public bus services.
The special deal has been made possible by The Base and Chartwell shopping centres, who will cover the cost of the day’s free travel.
“It’s been really fantastic to work with the shopping centres to provide shoppers with a hassle-free way to get to and from the sales,” said Waikato Regional Council public transport manager, Andrew Wilson.
“This would not have been possible without their support,” he said.
Simon Betts, centre manager at The Base, said: “Boxing Day is one of the busiest shopping days of the year and we are very lucky at The Base to be well serviced by the local bus network. We encourage customers to take advantage of the opportunity to leave the car at home and let someone else do the driving.”
This was backed by Chartwell Shopping Centre’s marketing manager, Chloe Boerema. “We are excited to be supporting this initiative. It’s a fantastic way to ease congestion on our roads on one of the busiest retail days of the year. We hope to see many Chartwell customers arriving by bus!”
