"State Highway 1 closed after crash – Taupiri"
State Highway 1 is closed near Taupiri after a crash at 11:50am involving two vehicles.
Seven people have been injured – one person with serious injuries and the six others with moderate injuries.
A helicopter has been dispatched to the crash.
The road has been closed at Great South Road diverting traffic south through Ngaruawahia, and at the Waikato
Expressway/Gordonton Road intersection.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
