WET WEATHER WON’T RAIN ON FARMERS SANTA PARADE
While the weather might get a little wild this weekend, a touch of rain won’t dampen the joy of the 85th Farmers Santa Parade and at this stage the show is set to go ahead as planned.
Santa’s elves have scoured the weather channels ahead of the parade and the forecast is looking promising for the tradition to continue and wow the crowds this Sunday 25 November. Attendees are urged to wrap up warm and prepare for showers that shouldn't last too long on the big day.
The team have consulted the experts, and according to MetService meteorologist Rob Kerr says that people should prepare for some wet weather over the weekend but the showers should clear quickly.
“For Auckland on Sunday, the main front is expected to move through Sunday morning with warmer weather in its wake than of late,” says Kerr. “There will still be some showers around though, so fingers crossed for clear breaks once the parade starts at 1pm.”
However, if the weather turns for the worst, the Parade may still be postponed to the rain date of Sunday 2 December. Parade attendees are encouraged to listen into The Hits radio station to keep up to date with the latest announcements.
