Emergency services are working at the scene of a serious single-car crash on State Highway 1 near Ward, Marlborough.
One person has died following the crash.
Police were called to the scene about 4pm.
One lane of the road is open, and traffic management is in place.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
