Napier Police have arrested and charged two men in relation to an incident in Maraenui on 29 September where a firearm was presented at two police officers.
The firearm was presented out the window of a vehicle that failed to stop on Wycliffe Street.
The men, aged 24 and 25, are charged with presenting a firearm at a law enforcement officer in relation to the 29 September incident.
The men also face additional charges of unlawfully being in a vehicle, possession of a firearm, presenting a firearm, and charges for driving offences in relation to a separate incident on 8 October.
The men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear in Napier District Court on 20 October.
Police wish to thank the public for their ongoing support and information provided in relation to the whereabouts of one of the men.
As this matter is now before the court, Police is not able to comment further.
