A man has been transported to Whakatane Hospital in a critical condition following an incident at a property on Waiotahe
Valley Road, Waiotahi, near Opotiki.
Police received a report the man had been stabbed at approximately 7:25am.
The people involved in this incident are known to each other.
Police know the identity of the offender and are working to locate him.
A scene examination is underway at the address.
