Police responding to Muriwai incident

Please attribute to a Police spokesperson:
At approximately 2pm this afternoon Police and emergency services were called to Muriwai Beach in Auckland after reports of two people being swept off rocks.
Both people have been recovered from the water, one person has sadly not survived and the other is being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
There is no further information available at this stage.
