Northcote Labour candidate Shanan Halbert was pleased to welcome Transport Minister Phil Twyford yesterday to meet with local stakeholders about the opportunities in ATAP and beyond for Northcote.
Shanan and Phil Twyford spoke with members of the Kaipātiki Local Board, Auckland Councillor Richard Hills, and Bike Kaipātiki about the Government’s vision for improving transport in Northcote.
Shanan said “After a great morning with the Prime Minister, It was great having the Minister for Transport come and discuss the great work that’s coming up that’ll help unclog roads and unlock the local economy.”
“We talked with business about how Skypath and Seapath will bring new customers to Birkenhead. I will also continue to be a strong local voice for improved bus and ferry services to shorten commuting times for people who travel into the city each day.”
“If elected, I’ll continue to work closely with the Transport Minister, Auckland Council, and our community to ease congestion on our roads.”
