Police are appealing for sightings of a grey Toyota Hilux stolen in Greymouth on Sunday 6 May.
The 2001 vehicle, registration ZY4986, is believed to have been involved in an attempted theft of diesel from a farm in Tokarahi, near Oamaru on Monday 14 May.
At the time, the vehicle had a blue and white motorbike on its deck.
Police are eager to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle anywhere in the South Island, as well as anyone who recently had a motorbike, similar to the one pictured, stolen.
