"Murder charge following Nelson death"

A 62-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 62-year-old woman at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson overnight.
Police were called to the hotel shortly before 9am this morning and a woman was found deceased.
The man is due to appear in Nelson District Court on Monday 30 April.
The man and woman were visiting New Zealand from overseas.
Police is unable to release the name of the victim until all next of kin have been advised.
As this matter is now before the court, we are unable to comment further.
