Notification of Emergency Mobile Alert in Putaruru
The Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group have issued an Emergency Mobile Alert in relation to a boil water notice for Putaruru. The Emergency Mobile Alert is currently being broadcast in Putaruru.
"If you are in Putaruru, please continue to boil drinking water until further notice. See www.health.govt.nz/boilwater for more detailed health information, but the short version is to boil all water for: drinking, making up baby formula, juices, washing fruits and vegetables, other cooking uses, and brushing teeth. Discard all water and ice stored since Monday 16 April 2018. All water (including filtered) needs to be continuously boiled for at least 1 minute. Instant boil water water systems do not boil water sufficiently. It is OK to use jugs with an automatic cut-off switch as long as they are full.
Take care when bathing and showering so that you do not swallow water. We are sending this for any who have not received the information we have already put out.
Remember this is just for those serviced by Putaruru. For updates please go to www.southwaikato.govt.nz"
