Biggest Plant Sale in the Wellington Region and first ever Lawn Mower Derby
The famous Paekakariki School Plant Sale is back! Now with a wonderful Garden Gala for all ages to enjoy and the first ever Lawn Mower Derby.
The Plant Sale is the largest in the Wellington region so if you’re looking to stock your winter garden make sure you mark your calendar - May 6, 10am until 2pm.
The Paekakariki School Garden Gala and Plant Sale will feature a wide range of plants, from essential winter vegetables to bird-loving natives, herbs and flowers, starting from just $1 through to $10.
Gardening Guru Hannah Zwartz presents a free gardening workshop at 1pm - Eating from the winter garden.
Bring your lawn mower or borrow one of ours and come on down for the first ever Kapiti Coast Lawn Mower Derby, 11am - 12 noon - there are three exciting events you can enter, with prizes for the best-decorated lawn mower perfect for the youngest in the family, an obstacle race for your thrillseekers and finally a daring, dangerous drag for adults only. Come prepared for thrills!
1. Lawn Mower Best in Show - pimp your lawn mower - all ages.
2. Lawn Mower Obstacle Course - 12 years and over
3. Lawn Mower Derby - Adults only
Entry into one or all three events is by koha. Donations over $10 puts you in the draw to win a car! Email paekakakrikischoolPTA@gmail. com or turn up on the day to enter.
Add all your Gala classics - from raffles to bake sale to a bouncy castle, and you've got a fun family day out! Plus, don't miss your chance to win a reconditioned black Subaru Legacy! Raffle tickets just $10 each. Plus the Paekakariki School Radio Club will do a Paekakariki FM Open Day, running live broadcasts, interviewing visitors, and playing some funky beats.
All funds raised will go to our science department, kapa haka group, soup in schools, gardening programme and restoration and our lawn maintenance.
