"Man arrested in relation to Timaru fires"
The following can be attributed to Senior Sergeant Richard Quested:
Police in Timaru have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man with intentional damage, burglary and arson in relation to recent fires at the Timaru Bowling Club and Mountain View High School.
He will appear in the Timaru District Court today.
Enquiries into the fires are still ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything of interest near the bowling club at SBS Stadium on Morgans Road on the night of Tuesday 3 April, or near Mountain View High School on that night or in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
