"Southland Police seek public's help"
Southland Police are appealing for information to help identify a man seen near a vehicle shortly before it was stolen.
The Toyota Hilux, registration AZQ526, was stolen from Cairnard Road, Fairlight at about 11am on Sunday 25 March.
It has a wooden dog box and a silver tool box bolted to the deck.
A man, about 6-foot tall and missing his top front teeth, was seen near the vehicle before it was driven away.
Constable David Leach says the area is fairly remote and usually only used by hunters.
"Anyone with information about this man or the stolen vehicle is urged to contact Lumsden Police on 03 248 9089 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
