Where Chocolate and Yoga, Nature and Music Meet - Yoga Camp NZ 2018
March 9 - 11, 2018 at the Manaia Native Habitat, Little River Campgrounds
[CHRISTCHURCH, NZ, 1 March, 2018] - Chocolate meets yoga Friday night at the Yoga Camp NZ 2018 Opening Ceremony where camp producers along with Oonagh Brown, Chocolate Ambassador at SHE Universe, offer cacao beans to each camp participant as a delicious representation of balance, power and union - elements that a yoga practice also provides and strengthens..
“Cacao is a key essential ingredient in the living of a balanced and healthy life, supporting in the opportunity to unplug from the patterns of today’s lifestyles and open to more infinite potential. I have journeyed with chocolate for over 12 years which has opened in me a deep call to share my discoveries in the possibility of living from the one true free place - our heart and our knowing. Cacao in ones daily life truly supports this.” says Oonagh Brown
Yoga Camp NZ Co-Producer, Nicole Dench aka Yoga With Nicole, teaches her body positive, all-levels, nature inspired classes Saturday and Sunday at the camp. “Yoga Camp is here to bring us all together, to create space for us all to move our bodies, to laugh, to be inspired by new ways of living and to share kai with one another.”
In addition to yoga and movement, the camp highlights music, dance and sound healing as paths and practices encouraging pure expression and deep relaxation,.
Sound Healing merges music, performance and yoga. Recipients recline in Sivasana aka “Relaxation Pose” whilst instruments from around the world, including didgeridoo, Native American drum, bells, crystal bowls and more are played over the body.
Jody Lloyd aka trillion, Yoga Camp NZ Co-Producer, Founder of Ecstatic Dance Christchurch, Musician and former member of New Zealand Rap Group, Dark Tower, defines Sound Healing as the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body/mind with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health.
Jody will be DJing Saturday night at the outdoor Ecstatic Dance at Yoga Camp NZ. Ecstatic Dance is a judgement free, free-from movement experience featuring electronic and world music, The journey is self-guided and can be as energetic or restorative as one decides. The dance is followed by a Sound Healing journey co-led by Jody and musician, Jake Kiano Skinner of ThetaSoundscapes. Jake is also facilitating a music and drum circle Fridayevening at the camp.
“I deeply see how Canterbury residents need attuned awareness in this time. Seven years ago we all went through some seriously rough trials and tribulations with the 2011 earthquakes. This activated a strong nervous system response called the “Fight, Flight or Freeze” system. I truly believe music has helped me to express these pains and become really focused on the now.” says Jake.
Yoga Camp NZ commences 5:30 pm Friday, March 9 and concludes Sunday, March 11 at 1pm. Full program details and ticket sales are available on Eventbrite - http://bit.ly/YogaCampNZ2018
