"Arrest following Invercargill assault"
To be attributed to Detective Senior Sergeant Stu Harvey:
A 27-year-old Invercargill man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery following an attack on a man at the corner of Ythan and Janet Streets, in Appleby, Invercargill, on Friday 16 February.
The man is due to appear in Invercargill District Court today.
A 16-year-old man is already facing charges in relation to the assault, he will also be facing a charge of attempted murder when he next appears in the Invercargill Youth Court.
The 23-year-old victim has been released from hospital after this vicious attack and is recovering in the care of his family.
