Hawke’s Bay & Gisborne Police to host local Open Days
Gisborne and Napier Police are hosting two public Open Days across the Eastern District next month.
The Open Days will be held at the Gisborne Police Station and the Hawkes Bay Racing Centre, Prospect Road, Hastings on Sunday, March 11.
Eastern District Commander, Superintendent Tania Kura says the Open Days are a great opportunity to promote Policing as a career while also providing Police and the community a chance to connect in an informal setting.
“We have a number of activities planned across the two events in our District to showcase the different opportunities a career in the Police can provide.
“Staff have been busy organising these events and I would encourage anyone curious about a career in the Police to come along and learn about it first-hand from our local officers
“Eastern District Police needs great people who care about their communities to join us.
“While this year’s Open Day has a recruitment focus, there will be plenty of other activities happening across the day for anyone curious about a behind-the-scenes look at Police and the work we do,” says Superintendent Kura.
Activities being held across the District include displays from: Armed Offenders Squad, Search and Rescue, Police Dog teams, Scene of Crime officers, Community Patrol teams, there will be a Blue Light BBQ in Gisborne and a tour of the Custody area of the Gisborne station and displays from Road Policing, along with recruitment display and information.
More information on the Open Days being held in Gisborne and Hastings can be found on the Eastern District Facebook page or the Police website.
