A 26-year-old man has been arrested following an assault on a Lower Hutt taxi driver on Christmas Eve.
Following enquiries by a team of investigators in Lower Hutt, the man was arrested yesterday and charged with two counts of assault and one of wilful damage.
He is due to appear in Lower Hutt District Court on Thursday 1 March.
As the matter is now before the courts we are not in a position to comment further.
