Fatal crash – South Canterbury
One person had died following a car crash near Winchester, South Canterbury overnight.
Police were called to the incident at around 12.05am on 20 February.
Only one vehicle was involved and a 34-year-old passenger in that car died.
A Serious Crash Unit investigation is underway into the cause of the crash and the death has been referred to the Coroner.
Police extend their sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.
