"Homicide investigation launched in Opotiki"
Attributable to Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Standen, Eastern Bay of Plenty Police:
Around 1:15pm today Opotiki Police responding to a reported domestic incident found a woman deceased in a residential property near the CBD.
It appears the deceased has sustained injuries to her face and arms that have been fatal.
A homicide investigation has begun, and the identity of the woman is not yet formally confirmed.
Any further information will be released when available, however this is not expected to be tonight.
