Homicide investigation in Gate Pa, Tauranga

Police are investigating the homicide of a man at a Wilrose Place address in Gate Pa, Tauranga late on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10:40pm.
The victim, 52-year-old David Rawiri Kuka from Tauranga, had suffered a serious injury to the head and was pronounced dead at 11:15pm.
Police are working with Mr Kuka’s family and ensuring support is provided.
A post mortem is being carried out today and a scene examination at the address is also continuing.
Police can confirm it is the same address where Lance Waite was injured on 3 January 2018, before dying in hospital later that day.
Police still want to speak to anyone who was in the Courtney Road, Wilrose Place, Fraser Street areas between 9pm and midnight on Sunday night.
