"Search under way in Rangitikei River"
A search is under way in the Rangitikei River this evening for a teenage boy reported missing.
Police were notified of the missing boy at 6pm.
He had last been seen in the river around 45 minutes earlier, near the bridge where State Highway 1 crosses the river.
Police and family members are searching for the boy, with the assistance of a local jet boater and the rescue helicopter.
At this stage it is anticipated that the search will continue until it gets dark and resume at first light.
