Press Release: Greg Moyle to Bring Balance and Experience to the Waitematā Local Board

Greg Moyle is standing in the Waitematā Local Board by-election to bring Balance to the Board and ensure meaningful representation for all the people and businesses of the area.
Greg is committed to local government. He was elected as a member of the Waitematā Local Board in the 2010-2013 and
2013-2016 terms, served as a Councillor on the Auckland City Council from 2007-2010 (a role in which he was instrumental
in saving the historic Tepid Baths from demolition) and as Chair of the Western Bays Community Board. He is currently
board chair of Mount Albert Grammar and Chair of trustees of the New Zealand War Memorial Museum project in Le Quesnoy,
France.
He is a successful business and family man with deep roots in the community, having lived and worked in the local board
area for almost his entire life and currently resident in Herne Bay.
Greg’s home grown organic produce, legendary at the Grey Lynn Farmers’ Market, fund Rotary initiatives and in particular
his pet project ‘Gardens in Schools’. Greg was instrumental in establishing them at Ponsonby, Newton Central, Marist
Herne Bay, Bayfield, Parnell and Richmond Road Primary Schools, Ponsonby Intermediate and Mount Albert Grammar.

“The current green-left leadership of the local board is ideologically committed to a ‘cycle ways at all costs’
implementation throughout the inner suburbs. The provision of safer cycling, walking, fit-for-purpose public transport,
vehicle and transport access as part of a holistic approach to safe and efficient movement in our communities has been
sadly lacking. AT’s complete disregard for consultation that is inclusive and meaningful can be seen most recently in
West Lynn, Westmere and Parnell where local businesses have borne the brunt of this intransigence and massive extra cost
to our city where so much of the roll-out will have to be redone.”
“These inner-city villages as the lifeblood of our city. A vibrant mix of community amenity and successful businesses
accessible by all is at risk” commented Greg.
Greg will listen – he will ensure a balanced approach to board decisions that realistically reflect the views of
residents and businesses alike.
