Horowhenua Taste Trail is Back
The second annual Horowhenua Taste Trail will take place on Saturday November 25.
The event, held for the first time last November showcasing Horowhenua specialist food producers and a farm tour, was such a success a trust is being set up to ensure this is an annual event in the Horowhenua.
Antony Young, Horowhenua Taste Trail Chairman, says “Horowhenua grows and produces excellent food. We want to showcase the variety of quality food producers in the Horowhenua to our local community and the rest of New Zealand.
“We are delighted to have this event back again and will be ensuring it is a must do event in the Horowhenua”.
Once per year when producers open their doors, the Taste Trail provides a unique opportunity to get behind the scenes, and sample delicious fresh produce, directly from the source.
A voluntary committee has been established and are working away in the back ground to make sure the event is even more enjoyable than last.
Catherine Lewis, Event Committee representative, says “We can’t confirm all of the stops on the trail yet, but I can tell you the trail will feature some of last years favourite stops plus a couple of new ones to try out along the way!”
Ms Lewis says each stop is working to improve the offering to ensure the event is even more tastier. “It will definitely be an adventure not to be missed.
“Horowhenua offers some of the best produce in the country and we want to share it - and show it off! Make sure you save the date and tell your friends that the Taste Trail is back!"
The event welcomes people of all ages, and is family friendly. Tickets will be on sale late September. Anyone wishing to join in the Trail can find out more information at our website www.tastetrail.o.nz or on our Facebook Page @horowhenuatastetrail
