Update: Police search for missing man, Stephen Lowe
Today, Police and LandSAR volunteers have been searching for missing Dunedin man Stephen Lowe.
Mr Lowe left work on Portsmouth Drive in Dunedin around 10am on Friday, September 15, and has not been seen or heard from since.
The search continued in the Catlins area with 31 LandSAR searchers who are volunteers from the Catlins, Dunedin and Clutha areas.
The search today included three search dogs and an aerial search by helicopter.
This aerial search was limited due to the dense native bush in the area.
There was significant land and tracks covered around the McLean Falls area.
At this stage, the search has been negative but swift water searchers from Dunedin will be included tomorrow.
Searching will conclude tonight at 6pm for the safety of all searchers involved.
Police cannot comment further at this time but enquiries are continuing regarding any sightings of Mr Lowe and his vehicle since Friday the 15th September.
Senior Sergeant Fairley would like to hear from "Mike and Talia" who had been tramping in the area over the weekend.
They may be from the Dunedin area.
Could they please make contact with S/Sgt Fairley on 021 191 5318.
Any other information would be appreciated by Balclutha Police on (03) 418 0203.
