UPDATE Serious crash - Huntly
Police can now confirm one person has died in the crash north of Huntly.
The crash involved a truck and a car.
The driver of the car has died and the truck driver has moderate injuries.
The person who died is yet to be formally identified and Police are in the process of notifying their next of kin.
The road remains closed with diversions in place at Tainui Bridge and East Mine Road and we ask drivers for their
patience, particularly the truck drivers who are unable to travel north through Huntly at this time.
Truck drivers travelling north should detour via Orini Road, just out of Taupiri.
