"UPDATE: Serious crash on Napier-Taupo Road (SH5), Te Haroto "
One person has died following the serious crash on State Highway 5, Te Haroto this afternoon.
Emergencies services, including a rescue helicopter, were called to the scene at approximately 4:20pm.
Two other people were also taken to hospital in a critical condition. A further two people have moderate injuries.
State Highway 5 has now reopened.
While Police work to inform all next of kin, the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
