"Hastings Police seeking information on suspicious fire"
Attributable to Detective Amy Bryant, Hastings Police:
Police and Fire and Emergency NZ last night attended a suspicious fire in Hastings, and are appealing to the public for information.
The fire was reported in a warehouse on the corner of Williams Street and Nelson Street North, about 10pm.
There was significant damage to the building, and damage to an adjacent building.
There were no injuries to any people.
We’re appealing to members of the public who may have any information about the fire, or who noticed anything suspicious in the area, to contact Hastings Police on (06) 873 0500.
Alternatively, information can be passed to Crimestoppers, anonymously if necessary, on 0800 555 111.
It’s a reminder for members of our community to look out for each other, and report anything unusual to Police.
We would rather hear something and it turn out to be nothing, than miss a vital piece of information.
