UPDATE - Fatal Crash in Alexandra
Police investigations into the crash are continuing this morning.
A 19-year-old Alexandra man died, and a 19-year-old Ranfurly man received critical injuries and is in Dunedin Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Another 19-year-old Alexandra man escaped with minor injuries.
Police and Victim Support are working with the families involved. It is hoped that the name of the deceased will be released later today.
This was a single vehicle crash, with the car leaving the road and colliding with a tree.
It is too early to speculate on the cause but Police are working at the scene and with witnesses to establish the circumstances.
Police are seeking information about, or any witnesses who may have seen, a grey sedan travelling on Chicago Street, or between Alexandra and the airport between 11.30pm and midnight last night.
