Wellington Police have made a second arrest following the kidnapping and serious assault of a taxi driver in the wider Ngauranga area yesterday morning.
A 23-year-old Auckland man was arrested in Titahi Bay today.
Earlier, a 24-year-old man, also from Auckland, was arrested in Titahi Bay.
The men are due to appear in Wellington District Court tomorrow morning, both charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated wounding, kidnapping and arson.
This was an appalling incident for the victim, who remains in hospital and is recovering from his injuries.
The investigation team is pleased that swift arrests have been made and that this matter is now before the court.
