Police investigating Greytown hit and run

Wairarapa Police are investigating a hit and run which occurred on East Street, Greytown, last night between 11-11:15pm.
A 19-year-old man was crossing the road, near the rear entrance of the Greytown Hotel, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling north.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
The victim’s two friends had crossed the road not long before him and immediately went to his aid and rang emergency services.
The man who was struck is currently in the High Dependency Unit at Masterton Hospital receiving treatment.
Masterton Police would urgently like to speak to the driver of the vehicle or any people who were in the area at the time.
