Young pedestrian injured on Highbury Ave, Palmerston North
Palmerston North Police are attending a serious incident involving a young pedestrian in Highbury.
Emergency services were called to the Highbury Avenue scene at 3:15pm today.
A ute towing a trailer has collided with a child who was crossing the road.
The child is in a critical condition. There are no further injuries.
A section of Highbury Avenue is now closed and diversions are in place down Lancester Street and Somerset Crescent.
Roads users are asked to avoid the area for at least a couple of hours while the Serious Crash Unit investigate the incident.
