"Investigation ongoing into death of woman in Avonhead Road"

The investigation by Christchurch Police into the death of a woman at an Avonhead Road, Christchurch address overnight
is ongoing.
A scene examination is continuing and 20 investigators are involved in gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses and
liaising with the victim’s family.
A formal identification of the victim is still to be completed.
At this stage Police believe this is an isolated incident and there are no safety concerns for the general public.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Avonhead Road area at around 12pm last night and noticed anything
out of the ordinary.
